Hello All..

I dug this in 1993 in a area off of an old farm road. It was pretty deep for the White's 6000 I was using at the time, about 8". I spent days hunting around where I found it and never found anything else even remotely close to where it was.

The slab is tagged as it being 'Cleaned" BUT I did not clean it!! I wrapped it up in a crumbled up dollar bill and had it in a old pill bottle I used for small stuff I find. I soaked it and used compressed air in a can to clean it. I have to say I was disappointed when it came back as cleaned. Still, by far my earliest Quarter and I think I have only one other from the 1800s.. a Barber.
