Florida Vacation...LEFT was RIGHT !! Appraisal with new pictures!..and a prayer

I took a spring break vacation to Florida with my brother Jeff (clump63)
and 4 teenagers last week! We had a great time and managed to get
a few days of metal detecting in while we were there. Jeff and I found
out real quick that the metal detecting competition down there is FIERCE!!
Nothing like we are used to here in Indiana.
Our second day we decided to hit a popular beach area by 7 a.m. and realized that we were late...there were already 4 or 5 old timers out there
scanning the sand. Jeff took to the right side of the beach and I took to
the left side...wondering if there would even be anything left since the
regulars were already well on their way to scooping sand.
Anyway, long story short....I dug up this beauty and almost fainted!
I took it to the local jeweler today....the ring is stamped 18k and the
diamond is 3/4 carot. He recommended to me where to take it to have the
stone graded as he found it to be an outstanding stone!
Approximate value in his opinion....$4,000 to $5,000 !!
Oddly enough....this is the first ring I have ever found.....

Awesome, simply awesome. My heart is pumping just thinking about finding something like that. Well and truly paid for your detector I'd say. Something many of us are still hoping to do .

Hey guys...Thanks so much for all the great feedback!
I can honestly say that I dont believe that it was skill that found ring
but more just a stroke of luck. Beach detecting is so much different
than the digging that we do here in Indiana....
The ring was only 2 or 3 inches buried in the sand so Im guessing that
it hadnt been lost for very long.

SWR...Your right!! Im hooked!!...but please dont raise the tourist tax..
Believe me...we paid enough that week for the condo that we stayed in!
I know!!...maybe next time we can all pile in at your place.....

texan connection...to be honest with you...I can only tell you that it
showed up as a coin on my md....what coin? I dont know!

Green1...Oh yeah! my md has paid for itself..twice as a matter of fact!!
It just so happens that the first Indian Head penny that I found was
dated 1877...another find that almost blew my brother away..lol

Country Girl...Not sure what I am going to do with it yet..other than take
it to the recommended jeweler to have the stone graded. I have two sons
maybe on of them might need it someday....

I will most certainly try to get some better pictures of it on here since that
one is a little blurry...I think I was shaking when I took that....lol...
but until then...here is one of Jeff and I on the Pier.

Congrats on the ring and it looks like you had a nice vacation. I've only found two gold rings while MDing and they were on the same day while on vacation in Mexico. You have to love the vacation detecting.

It looks like you found it in dry sand. It's odd that it would ring as a coin. I found at least 150 rusty bottle caps that rang up a gold on the beach last week.
