Didn't include all the broken horse shoes. One item I think is some kind of tool with all the slots and holes, Maybe a couple of handles for furniture drawer pulls. porcelain Ball zinc jar lid. Found a milky quarts arrowhead on a ridge.Haven't a clue on the big ring/ chain thing. Anyhow no coins today.

Thanks, I really appreciate the info. Had no idea what I had pulled out of the ground. I've got permission to hunt on the outside perimeter of the home place, but not the actual place itself. Guess its time to break out a loaf of zucchini bread. Has worked in the past. Thanks again RJ

Took a loaf of home made zucchini bread fairly early this morning at homeowners house and left a note saying what it was and that it was from the metal detecting dude, and was also a bribe. Left name and phone number. will see what happens. His wife is all for me detecting, but said final decision is up to him. that place has a lot of history behind it. Was once some kind of school for boy's.

The long piece with the hole and square shoulder and long hole, looks to be a Morse taper for a drill bit. Probably used in a lathe. The long slot is for a drift to be placed in and then the drill bit is pushed out when tapped with a hammer. The square shoulder would accommodate a square shank drill bit and it would all fit in a lathe tail stock. Being honest, I have never seen one quite like that and I am not sure what the nipple is on the bottom of the taper.
