So yesterday I was going through some wheaties I dug earlier in the year. I have 2 zip-lock bags to go through so far... So I grabbed a hand full and the 3rd coin I rinsed under water was this hard to find wheatie!!! This is the real deal, no traces of a weak D anywhere with a strong reverse! Thanks for looking & Happy Hunting! image-211722577.jpg image-930038714.jpg image-2551270131.jpg image-1763699549.jpg

Oh sweet!!!

Found a 22-D in EF condition last year at a tear-down in Glencoe. It seems the older the Wheats are the better condition they turn out to be after cleaning off the crud.

Nice score! Any more $5 gold lately? :)

Thanks Watercolor! I myself have not found any more 5$ golds but a customer of Chuck Smalley's out your way somewhere popped one the other day!

Whoa now that is a pretty scarce coin right there buddy! I have a stack of wheats I haven't cleaned up yet. This may inspire me to do so

Awesome coin. I thought I found one a couple weeks ago but after showing it to my son with a magnifying glass he pointed out I was wrong. Couldn't argue w/ him. Congrats

A cheap one until I can decide on a very good brand-name one to buy.

WoW! that's got to be really close to a, if not a, banner find. Congratulations.

I looked at it again and gave it the BANNER vote.

It looks like a "no D" strong reverse.

Thank you MichiganMan, I think it's worthy of a spot on top as it's a very rare find. A while back a 14d was up there and a plain 22 is about 4 times rarer.
