I don't know what this is ??? . It was at a local school field about 4 inches deep had a strong +45 VDI on my Whites MXT PRO . It looks like a really old silver coin , but the VDI is not right for that . It is much heavier than aluminum and has the shine of silver . Looks like it says " Twenty Fifth Year West " on one side and the other side has a crown in the middle and the letters E B E L T A N ? Any help would be great  . It will probably end up being a fake that a kid brought to school :laughing7: . Other finds were a 1948 wheat cent and a old Pine Wood Derby metal from the Boy Scouts . Total clad for two hours was $9.04 .

Interesting fantasy piece I think, not an old hammered anyway, but still a heart stopper.

still neat find, had to look good in the hole. I was certain I had found a silver quarter or better this morning, I could see what appeared to be a silver coin in the plug but as I wiped it off, I realized that (a) it was too light and (B) there was a bust on it... a real bust on one side and a butt on the other! LOL wasn't looking for that! what a let down. heads you win, tails you lose... i'd really prefer silver to this. your at least is interesting and maybe of some value.

What an interesting find - Gaelic May Day festival - Beltane - Kind of adopted by the Society of Creative Anachronism -
(Good job Jublain on the Beltane connection !) Glen, did you determine that this is silver ?

That's a cool find. Really like the fact that it has a hole like many of the Spanish silver pieces that are found.

I have not tested it yet but I'm thinking it's not silver . It's a bit flexible , more than silver would be .
