Today we found:

A musket ball
a buckle
Couple of pin like items?
Two round items, maybe these are miners tokens?

One has the number 5550 stamped, the other has an the letter S stamped and a diamond shape above it stamped on both sides.

ID would be appreciated.

Welcome back, hopefully it hunting season for you now?

The only thing I think I know what is is, is the countermarked blank halfpenny with the diamond over S. Check if its the size of a Georgian Halfpenny. The rest??

We have had a bad few weeks struggling to get land. We had some good fields near a Roman site but the farmer had dumped scrap all over his fields from the local council so we were wasting a lot of time digging scrap and finding nothing.

These few items came from a local field.

Thanks for the ID on the countermarked halfpenny.

Yeah, we have a Roman Site partly covered, if you can you just dig it all out. Thats where quick recovery of crap is important. Should be beep, dig, pocket (30 seconds or less)

Yes we can recover it fairly quickly, its like aluminum scrap mostly but having filled half a carrier bag full of junk we have given up and headed home. twice. Shame, because the area has a lot of history and the farmer seems pretty laid back.

Finding a good field can be as valuable as the finds themselves.
