Rained for two days and I have been busy but finally got to go for an afternoon hunt. found plenty of clad, the usual pull tabs, foil etc and those huge pop rivets drove me nuts, they hit just like a die which I was already finding several of. one key of a shape I've never seen before, the matchbox truck which was in two pieces and then the pieces of brass. I just love the total surprise of realizing that there is actually a ring in the dirt! The dirt was wet and really stuck in and around this ring and as I gently wiped the worst off, my wife came running over to see the ring and immediately claimed it until she realized that it was way too small for her. It is a heavy girls sterling ring with two 12 K heart shaped leaves along with what appears to be grapes. It is marked sterling and 12 K inside and my wife loves it. so the ring, silver and gold drought is over in one dig with ring #18. gotta love it! thanks for looking... it took me a little bit to realize to realize that I had all three, I was just excited about finding the ring period and then the rest was gravy and I like gravy!

That is a Black Hills gold ring. I bought two almost ten years ago about that size and it was about $40 a piece.

thanks guys and gals, I thought the ring was too small for a lady to wear but a lady at church today put it on easily as well as a small gold ring that I had found. one man called the ring a broken heart ring, I have no clue but the ladies seemed to really like it. on the plus side for the day, I gave one of my ring finds, the gold one with the amethyst stone to my ex wife, her birthday is coming up and it made her very happy. I don't hate my ex and try to help her when I can, I am just no longer responsible for what she does and doesn't do. it was kind of cool to be able to do it with something that I had dug out of the ground.

it is kind of cool, you are constantly looking, hoping for silver and gold as well as the old coins and such and to get both silver and gold in one item was a surprise for sure. I really only began metal detected seriously last April and have found several gold and silver items as well as a few cool items I am a very blessed man. Jerry
