No Mercury's but.....

Found yesterday had the button, nickel, penny and Kerr-Mcgee Chemical Company tool check soaking in Twinkle copper cleaner overnight because of corrosion from the alkali soil. The front of the button says EXCELSIOR and the back reads SCOVILL MFG WATERBURY STATE OF NEW YORK. The nickel is a 1934 the penny is a 1910-s and part of a U.S Army button. Everything but the Army button were found at an old bunk house site.

I have found 4 Buffalos all of them were corroded so bad could only identify as a Buffalo nickel couldn't see the dates or mint marks. Twinkle works good for me. Just wet the coin and bury it the twinkle over night. I had to repeat several times though because they were in bad shape.

. Nice finds. Funny, I found a 1910 s penny yesterday, too. It's semi-key and worth about 10-12 bucks.

That button is great! It is a Civil War button from NY State Union Forces. I have found one that is in a lot worse shape than yours but was still able to identify what it was.

Congrats!
