Ok, so I'm no pro yet as I've only found three silver items before today. I found a Merc dime and. Roosevelt Dime about a few days apart from eachother. I've spent the past few weeks trying to find some silver but it didn't happen until a few days ago with the ring I posted.

So today's three firsts are; my first double silver day, my first barber dime, and my first standing liberty quarter! I also found six wheaties, so check out the attached pics!

The square thing in the pic is a token for a cigar shop... Thanks for looking!

You are off to a great start Army Joe. Congratulations, those silvers are not easy to find! You might consider keeping your special finds in 2x2 coin flips, marking on them the date and locations of the finds. I enjoy looking over my early treasures that are saved in this way, and appreciate knowing "when" and "where" each coin was found. My early finds that were not preserved this way (and were simply shoved in a drawer) no longer have a story associated with them, and have no special meaning to me any more.

Joe--nice firsts! For those of us into tokens, how about some details on "the square thing"?

WTG Joe, I too have a QuickSilver but so far not much luck. It is great at finding nails in my area though...lol. I just picked up a used Tesoro Silver Sabre and have found more clad than I did with the QS over the same area. I think my QS has a problem though, when I have the iron on all it does it beep, even with good batteries. Great coins and congrats!

Congrats on the silver! Always a bonus when the quarters are older than Washingtons and the dimes are older than Mercs.
