This park has given me allot of old Finds.
Many Moons ago I hit this spot Row for Row
With a Whites 6000-D Series 2 Detector for a month straight.
I dug Every signal. till site was Silent

DSCF0017.JPG

DSCF0019.JPG

I pulled many Coins from the 1850's Through the 1930's
out of this Spot.

When I bought My Sovereign this was one of my First destinations & guess what.
Not a single Coin find. :dontknow:

When I got my Explorer XS I hit it. Nothing :dontknow:

When I got my Explorer 2 again Nothing :icon_scratch:

Was the Whites 6000-D that Good ? :dontknow:

I always Said If someone can go into this Spot with a detector I have never tried
and find A Coin pre- 1964 that was obviously not a recent drop, that would be a Surprise. and If they found More then the 1 that I may have missed by Bad Luck :laughing7:
that is a detector worth looking into Right ?

Well I decided time to give it a decent try with the Explorer SE PRO

Pair of 6's

1906 at about 5" under several Rocks
took almost 15 Minutes to reach it

DSCF0003(2).JPG DSCF0005(2).JPG

1896

about 4" not bad ground

DSCF0010(2).JPG DSCF0005(3).JPG

So I guess it wasn't cleaned Out

Sorry Post was so Long..... I Had Very Good Day ..... and am :laughing7:

Nice IH's congrats! Gives you a sense of accomplishment when you can out MD yourself!

I'm guessing the only detectors that might find something deeper are the specialized ones, you have already hit the area with some really good detectors. Looks like a beautiful park, very enjoyable.

Don't know how much rain you have had but that always seems make the goodies stand out. We could use some here, my M6 is starting to give some really wacky readings on clad coins, like they're screw caps or iron. So now I practically have to dig everything.

We had way too much rain this year, So the fact it hasn't rained significantly
in the last few weeks Is not something I wanna Complain about here :tongue3:

But thanks for looking & responding

Well done to scrape the two IH's outa there - Looks so promising that park - but perhaps it is close to played out .

( I always believe that there is another good find hiding in a place as large as that )

I always believe Every spot has a future find that is like Hitting the Lottery.

Only Problem is Every spot has a future find that is like Hitting the Lottery. :laughing7:

I don't know about a 6000-D but I know for a fact that you are good! It doesn't surprise me that there's not a lot to be found there. With all the work you put in there.

Are there machines that will go deeper still? Sure! BUT, do you REALLY want to spend 15 minutes digging thru rock to get a penny? (I know, might've been a gold coin. :dontknow: )

Excellent saves!

Lol, Once I start digging, I hate to give up.
I have given up on a few in the past, Even gone back after them on other days.
But Why Detect if your going to just listen & move on ? :tongue3:

Anyway.... Thanks !

by the way, Years ago I gave up on a whisper with the 6000 I could never pinpoint

when I went back with the Sovereign, & S1 Probe Years later,
I went after it again. at a very good Depth (I didn't Measure)
I pulled a standing Quarter. it pays to be persistent :laughing7:

Like you said, there are days where one can dig to China and others when you can't.

I've put a few finds on hold myself. Mark where and come back when rested. :)

Cool Indians and even cooler story. I had a 6000Di Pro hip mount detector for many years. Long straight shaft and small coil. With the box hanging from the shoulder harness and just the small coil on the shaft it was feather light and you could swing it all day long. It had good depth and with the small coil would pin point very accurately. My hunting buddy at the time talked me out of it in the early 90's as an upgrade from his old Bounty Hunter. He moved out of state a year or so later. Wish I still had that old machine for nostalgia sake. My backup detector now is a lightly used 5500D Series 3 black box, but it doesn't match the 6000.
