Got out for a bit after work today. I'm glad I did because I dug up a first for me. I found my first Chinese coin! Found it at a vacant lot where an 1880s home once sat. It was about 4" down and gave a wheat sent reading on the CTX 3030.

I don't have a clue how to research foreign coins. I would greatly appreciate any information anyone could give me regarding an ID and possible age. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for looking!

Your coin is a Ch'ien-Lung dating from 1736-1795. Awesome find. I enjoy finding Chinese coins with all their different characters.

Hi Asmerri , I found the same coin on an old Chinese Goldfield dating to 1880 , these are Bronze and date to late 1700's , very common and worth a few bucks , cool find just the same ..cheers Mick

Very cool! That makes it my first 1700s coin then. Wish it was a U.S. coin but I'm still pumped! Thanks for the info!
