Saying your hunt was productive just doesn't seem like enough. Congrats on amazing finds.

BB asked a question the other day, 'do we get broken pieces that fit together'. I basically said, 'yes sometimes'.
Well the leather mount in the shape of a star burst was re-united today. Dad had the first piece on the way to the site the other day, & I had the other on the way back to the car.:laughing7:

You get lots of stuff on the way back to the car! I would walk up and down to the car and back! :occasion14:
Your gridding system surely pays off! The chicken brooch is cool, the hammered is a beaut but i like the Faustina more. Never got that girl on a silver. Congrats!

Great assortment of finds once again, the hammered is one really nice silver along with the Roman. The chicken brooch is a great little find, very cool.

Totally awesome, so much good stuff.
Congrats on your chicken complete with spring, must be some alloy in that to make it last.
Like to see a close up of the 5 figure date...that sounds like a unique piece too.

Wow - you guys keep pounding out the relics and coins. That's an absurd number of romans for one hunt. And I love that Lizzie with the error. I've never seen that before on a coin of that age. How do you think that happened?

That chicken brooch is a killer find. That 5 digit date hammered is pretty cool too. That place must be very exciting to detect.

Wow Cru sometimes I don't comment on your posts because I can only say how incredible they are in so many different ways but this site is incredible. Some of those buckles are very very nice as well. But that Lizzie error is a KILLER find. Congrats on another great hunt....even for you

No, it was 2 hunts of 11+ hours total.

I've got a couple of lizzy overstrike dates, where they re-work the die, but no idea why they did it like this one. None of my coin books covers these odd balls. So I know very little.
