Found these today in a different section of yard where I found the 1860's Nova Scotia militia button. They may clean up better or I might just leave them alone. Thanks for looking!

A british coin I believe and has a lot of detail under the crud. I just don't want to mess it up. Any idea of type and age

As for messing the old half penny up, I think Father Time beat you to it, no amount of cleaning will bring it back from the ravages of time

It's a really big property. I know there is some silver lurking there somewhere!

My guess is a Queen Victoria Bronze penny (1860-1901). The date will be on the reverse below Britannia (Lady with the shield and trident). Google coins of the UK and the guide that pops up is good. The problem with the Victoria penny is there are at least 7 known variations of the each the obverse and reverse. But. I can tell you it is old. The Brits didn't move to the decimal system with coins until the early 70s. Plus Queen Elizabeth has been on the coins for over 70 years now. Bit of trivia, did you know there has been only two commoners on any British coin in history. Oliver Cromwell(1656, 1658 half crown) and Winston Churchill (1965 crown). Sorry i didn't mean to ramble.

Yes, and you can see the Reg at about 1 o'clock, as well as tell it's the old/veiled head, so it dates right around the turn of the century.

Yup british Victoria one penny 1895-1901! Looked hard under light and it's a 1897!

It's complete but I wonder why it's not nice and round like normal ones? When it first came out of the ground it thought it was hammered or something.

Got another old coin in the same area. It's easier to see the outline in person but I tried to take a couple pictures. It's not a Nova Scotia half penny token because the bust is facing right not left. Any idea if it's a british coin or another token of some kind?
