1859 indian head lamination error.

I am new to the site. I wanted to ask about the value of a coin I found deep within some old stuff of my grandparents. Its a 1859 Indian which has a lamination error. I wanted to get opinions about the value? It is a key date and first year.

according to the coin dealers new letter 1859 in good it is $10 in vg 13 in f 18 in vf 36 and xf 85

It holds a decent value for what it is. A lamination error though?

Error coins are often a breed apart from the rest of numismatics. Otherwise the overdates and double dies, most collectors don't know much about them and have little interest. Hence, the normal price guides don't cover them much. If you don't get a answer here you probably should check with someone who specializes in errors. Might have a fair bit of interest being a one year type.

Hard to tell from the pics... is it just worn oddly? Or an odd coloration pattern? Or is there definitely metal gone?
