Dad & I spent 2 days, 24 man hours searching 3 fields that we can now cross off, & the whole of a small Roman Site that we haven't done in years. It went to the bottom of the list as it had less than 40 bronze coins, 0 silver, & about 4 artefacts. But now that options are getting less we gave it a final go over.
I'm very pleased we did;

21 Roman Coins
Rare 4th C Roman Military Buckle piece - horses head type
Roman Nail Cleaner
Rose Farthing
Cartwheel Penny
Tudor Strapend
1943 Sixpence
Blank Shilling
Hammered Lizzy Halfgroat (Dad got this one whilst scouting!)
My fav find & one that deserved a sticky boot jig - Sestertius of Crispina AD182 - just over 1 oz of bronze!:headbang:

Hello,
You almost always find nice things. I especially like your Roman coin discoveries. You have another treasure too. It is a real blessing to be able to do something together with your father. Thank you for sharing your wonderful finds!
Best Regards,
Phil

Love your collection of pottery finds Cru ... I get excited when I find just one shard! :laughing7:
Amazing detail on this Sestertius of Crispina AD182 coin!

Dave

There was a couple of very unusual pieces that came off, types I've not seen. Might be 5-6th C Saxon, but not sure enough.

Maybe you guys should give it one more shot. Has to be more seeing all that you found the last time. Not sure if the law of diminishing returns applies just yet.

And another fantastic dig from the Cru. The big bronze is amazing but I see something that also has me intrigued, a small arrow head. Is this made out of bronze as well and do you have an idea of the age of this?

We never say never, but no return is justified to this one for at least 5 years. It would be a 'relative' waste of time.
