hello from England here is my find from this week in Dorset with my AT-PRO 5 inches down its about the size of a ten pence coin made of bronze possibly saxon or medieval in great condition sunday1.jpg

I would would say 13th C, but not seen one with such a thick band. The pin is a bonus, good find.

Wow nice annular brooch, I read that they were used predominantly in the 5th to 7th centurys (and these were still used later) by the people in the Anglian areas of east/northeast England. I wish there was stuff that old in America.
