Civil Warish?

A few months ago, I found a confederate buckle. Yesterday, I found this egg looking thing, and it is made of the exact same sheet brass as the confederate belt plate is. I'm wondering if this is some sort of civil war relic, because it was found on a spot believed to be a union picket line?

It might be a serving spoon bowl of some sort. Not sure.

To get the pictures off, you have to go into "edit" and then "advanced" and then scroll down and actually delete the picture from your profile. I think there should be the picture and then an X in the corner that you have to hit on the picture.

I am not sure why it isn't more straightforward than this.
