Silver and 14k B.A. Ballou signet ring

I had often heard that football fields were hotspots for lost rings, and I finally got a decent find!

Found a similar ring on www.etsy.com and they say it dates back to 1900-1910. Any idea if that is correct?

The ring is stamped Sterling Silver and 14k inside the band.
