Hunting a sports field and got a solid 52 signal...another pulltab or nickel. It was shallow so I went to pop it out with my screwdriver and the end of a gold chain popped up. I pulled it out slowly and it was a bracelet. I saw the weird S shaped clasp and thought it was fake but I noticed it weighed twice what it should for its size and had a beautiful deep color. When I got home I saw that the clasp was marked...with my loupe I could see .9999 stamped on it. I told my wife that there was no way it could be pure gold. I tested with acid starting with 14k and it passed...then the 18k and it held strong...that's when I started to get excited... I tried the 22k and after a minute it was still holding strong...I couldn't believe it...9.7 grams of pure 24k...its 8 inches long...I didn't even know they made 24k bracelets but researching I found several examples on the internet and E BAY...I think its Thai gold...aint this a great hobby...good luck to everyone.

Heck of a surprise for you. Love those sports fields. I doubt that would make it past the 3 gals in my house.

If gold doesn't get your blood pumping and give you a grin that hurts your cheeks, you're sleepwalking! 24 kt just doesn't get lost and not found through exhaustive searching very often I'll bet!

Nice find!!! Those chains are cool! It's amazing the weight difference in your hand! I like the clasps too! lol I have had a few of those go through my hands. By looking at the pics, It's real! You don't see those everyday! Awesome find!

You might want to look around that area some more! The ones I had looked the exact same and were necklaces. It might have wore in half and the other part might still be there!

Actually, I would almost bet on it! Look at the other chains on ebay and see if the other end is supposed to have a ring on it to put on the hook.
Yeah, I got to thinking the same thing...might have been a chain...it is missing the ring that would have went on the hook...I checked around a little thinking it may of had a charm but Im going back and checking real good...a piece of the chain with no clasp might not give a strong signal...thanks for the heads up.

GREAT FIND. With my Garrett AT GOLD a solid 52 shallow would probably tell me it was a nickel... I'd still pull it up... Now if it read in the 70's...that's usually a penny and I'd keep on walking...
