Becky and I went back to the Indian Head Field where we were about a week ago, we hunted for about three hours. I found a couple cool buttons, the one is a two piece, anyone that could help with an ID I would appreciate. I also found a 1941 Wheatie and a tiny flat button.

Becky had a good day with a few good finds (she has been kicking butt with that AT Pro of hers) I'll let her post and tell about her finds, I'm glad she found some good stuff again! Nice day, with a nice person.

Enjoy the pix

Brad, I am trying to make heads and tails from my button book, lol. The best I can tell, is that it is a General Service button dated from 1854-1874. I hope someone can give a more narrow window. Awesome finds!
Can you tell what the Backmark says?

That's a very nice general service button ! (the only one I found that size was smashed flat as a pancake ) I found a tiny cuff version
with a lot of gold (gilt? ) left on it . I think they date from about 1860 -to about 1875.

With my limited experience on field hunting, I'd say you did fine! Plus you had the pleasurable company and pretty fair weather!

Sounds like an all around win.
