Hello everyone

As you already know the season is about over. Its starting to freeze up here and I'll be putting my gear away for a few months. But until then I'm gonna keep pushing to grab a few more keepers.

Its been slow lately. Lack of good sites recently has resulted in some minimal finds. But I'm not complaining. I'll stumble onto something better in the future.

Most of the finds came from one foundation site I knew of. This place was loaded. Unfortunately its now posted land and don't think I'll return.

Pulled the usual common silver here and there out of a few parks. I did however at the end of a slow day found a old gold locket. It weighs 5.6 grams.

I'm 12 silvers shy of 150 witch is where I wanted to be at the end of the yr. I got 4 weeks to find 12 more. I'm gonna push hard if the weather holds. Weather I make that number or not I'm pleased with the season I had.

I spent a lot of hrs gas and researching to find what I did this season. Nothing came easy lol.

Thanks for looking

Good haul... but let me ask... does the spoon with the twisted handle have any marks on it at all ?

I have to say that your totals and the quality of your finds is extremely impressive. Great job and I hope you reach your goal. I think in my 2nd year I'm going to try to detect a few more modern sites and get my totals up a bit. I have predominately only hunted 16 and 1700s sites this first year. The keepers can be great but it certainly keeps your totals from being what they could be. I just have fallen in love with the super early sites. I just need to find more time to swing I think lol. How many days a year do you think you get out? Keep up the great work buddy. Very inspirational

DON'T DO IT ABE!!!! You will get very little satisfaction finding a mercury dime, or an SLQ after finding the treasures you found this year. I have to hunt the more modern sites because that's pretty much all I have. But if I lived in an area like yours I would hunt for the oldest relics and coins I could find. I also would rue reading a post of yours where you found a war nickel and Roosevelt dime.

Thanks a lot

I agree the older the better. We pretty much have to take whatever era we can around here. We have 1700s history here and from time to time I come across a older site. But typically I find 1890s sites and I'm happy with that.

Different seasons I chose different types of hunting. Were looking for older sites as we speak. Its hard to even find a stink in rosie or war Nickle anymore.

The spoon is marked pat may 2 99 and its marked extra silver plate

Yikes! You are doin great. A warm up coming will give you a couple days. Risk of getting wet but...
It is running colder this year for sure.

Beez I can always count on you to straighten my ass out lol. I promise I won't hunt any post civil war sites. You are absolutely right though. If I've got these very early sites why the hell would I hunt anything else.
