Hi there, I found these two things while md'ing here in Southern Indiana.? I have no idea what they are, but I think they are interesting.? Does anyone have any idea what these might be. The thing on the left is about an inch tall, and the other is about an inch tall and about 2 inches wide.? I posted these on treasurenet before the forums where like this, and I didnt get much response.? So, if you have any idea what these unusual finds could possibly be, please let me know because it is driving me crazy trying to figure them out. ;)? Thanks and HH!

You're right they are unusual... I've never seen anything like it but they certainly look old. Have you found any coins in this area that might date the site? On the one that is ornate, is that gold or brass???

Looks like one of those fancy old hairpieces on the left, the other looks like a small picture frame missing the back. Nice digs too!

I have found a few coins near where I found the ornate piece.? I found the 1830 LC in my avatar, an 1859 IH penny, and an 1868 shield nickel.? They were found at a site near by, so I figure that they were around the same time period.? I also found a Civil War Eagle "I" button a few feet away.? I think the ornate one is made out of brass.? The other piece however was found at a different site that I still have not found any coins at.? There are no words on it, but there are two indentions on the back where it looks like a couple of pins would have been.? HH!
