Made it to the 1800's club

Kinda cold here in Mich 23 this morning. I went to a park with the AT anyways. The frost is about 1\4". I had talked to a couple other guys detecting in this park about 4 weeks ago. And they showed me a silver dime, some wheaties, and talked about a indian head they had found a week earlier. So I went to the same area today, first coin was a 1907 V nickel. Then some pennies and clad dimes. About an hour later and about 10' from the Nickel I dug up a 1883 V nickel. Since I was the only one in the park and no one to high five, I hugged a tree.

Funny, and so true. I hunt alone most of the time, so from a distance, I'm sure I'm the town nut who digs holes in the ground and giggles to himself alot. Nice finds. Gotta love that Barber design ! "V"s

A rare 1800's coin too! You found an 1883 V nickel with "cents" most are with "cents" and more common than the no cents nickel.

The "No cents" is worth $7 in G-4
The "Cents" is worth $30 in G-4

Congrats,
Coinman123,

In agreement with Dave in M.D. Better to hug a tree than do a cartwheel and break something. Congrats on your V Nickels!

Thank You for all the comments, I sure enjoy reading them. As far as the tree goes, it is too big to reach around and about 90' tall. Makes you wonder how big it was when the Nickels were dropped there. Be safe in your quest, Happy Hunting.
