004.JPG 006.JPG 003.JPG 010.JPG Went back to the new permission for about 5 hours or so this afternoon.Started getting into to some more odds and ends, ended up turning up a couple pennies not to far from each other,so I slowed down a little bit hoping for a small spill.Wasn't finding much for awhile after that, but then I turned up what I thought was a half dime of some kind,"I was hoping for a flowing hair or draped bust the hole way home:laughing7:"but it turned out to be Spanish 1798, which is really neat,I was a little disappointed it wasn't a American half, but in the same breath still fortunate and happy to find it.The one Indian turned out to be a good date 1864 I am hoping for the L variety but have to get it cleaned up to see. Thanks for looking.HH

A silver coin from the 1700s!!! I can tell you with 1000% certainty that I would NOT be the slightest bit disappointed with that! Heck I would be tickled pink to have found the two LC you found. Congratulations on an excellent hunt.

Thanks beez!I don't ever find hardly any 1700's silver, that is my first 1/2 reale.I have only found one, "one Reale' in my time.'I am pretty tickled". I am not complaining at all:)They just don't hold the collectability that the American coinage does, that's all I meant.

That would have been a really good hunt without the coppers and silver. I'd sure like to find out if that would disappoint me, lol.

We had a slow soaking rain all day yesterday, so the ground is super saturated right now. Unfortunately, I have worked 24 hours between yesterday and today, lol. Nights dip below freezing, but it warms up during the day. I am hoping I can get out this week. More good luck your way.

I'm like you. Can't really be disappointed with 1700's Spanish silver but damn, a 1790's piece of US silver would be so sweet !!!

Anything you dug beats clad any day! Spanish silver, LC s and relics awesome!

We have a lot of standing ground water, more rain coming, after that it will probably freeze, ugh! Gonna need a blow touch and a back hoe soon!

Very nice finds indeed, getting a silver that old is great and on the want list of many. You really must be craving an old US silver which is good as it keeps the passion going, best of luck on the return hunts.
