First Military Button/ Pin, pocket knife and other cool stuff

We have been hitting it hard the last few days, well for a couple of old retired guys anyway. Taking advantage of the weather while we can. We got permission to hunt around an 1861 Stone barn. Building started in 1861, the farmer told us it took 7 years to complete. We were also told that soldiers were thought to have stayed there, because of some buttons that have been found. I found a button today, just not sure about it. If anyone can tell me more, drop me a line. The back of the button is flat and there was no loop or post. Thanks for looking, HH

That is a beautiful old barn. I love to see old structures like that and am thankful to see them kept up instead of allowing them to deteriorate and be bulldozed. The amount of labor and the quality of that work isn't matched today. Hope you find out more about your button. It looks like a nice one.
