Im only 3 months in to this addictive hobby but it's been awesome so far..... Hit a site today in NE Philly with a ton of history... The Kings Highway Bridge (Penny Pack park)......built in 1697 and still being used today.... ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1418575675.210600.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1418575686.003574.jpg Over the bridge crossed anyone who traveled to Philadelphia by horseback or coach from the northern colonies, including delegates to the First or Second Continental Congresses, such as John Adams, from Massachusetts. In 1789, George Washington crossed the bridge on his way to his first presidential inauguration in New York... He also stayed at the Inn inside the park.... Some of the old foundations can be seen you just have to look for them... Well, found my first buckle... I think it's a shoe buckle but the post seems long to me, I'm sure some of you guys know what it is.... Thanks for looking...Steve ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1418575580.431176.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1418575595.383047.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1418575609.215883.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1418575633.571875.jpg

Great finds. I'm sure there is lots more to find around there! :)

Nice stuff Steve. The Kings Highway extends all the way up to Central Pennsylvania particularly in my area. I've detected an old tavern that dates from 1773 adjacent to the Kings Highway here and made some fabulous finds. Again, congratulations, and keep diggin'.............Rich

Cool finds and a little Tom Petty.

Always wanted to try there but never got the chance, I live a few miles from there. I tried a spot thats about 5 mins from my house that was also part of the King's Highway, it's a stone bridge that was built in 1805. It's not in use anymore and unfortunately it's falling apart... I didn't find much there but i also didn't have a lot of time. I may have to hit it again, nice finds..
