It started slow today. First field site I was granted permission but at a later date as they were having a family gathering today. Second field site permission denied. Third site was the charm. After spending about an hour and a half in the wrong area, I pulled out my phone and googled historic map works and determined I was way off. So off I went looking for the debris field and just about when I was ready to mover 40-50 feet and double back I saw it, a little piece of white crockery then glass and then finally old broken bricks, alas I had found it. In 10 minutes I had found the Largie and then spent the next 2 hours grunting and nulling out in the Iron infested debris. not one more clean target. The Ax, broken horseshoe and half dozen more pieces of iron were surface finds. As it was getting dark I decided to work away from the Iron area until I ran out of signals (searching for the boundary) but I ran into lots and lots of scattered bricks and finally isolated some clean signals. Found the flat button, shotgun shell casing, mini ball, and the "cuff-link" thingy I'm sure that's not what it is but I don't know what else to even guess, any ideas? Please chime in and let me know. I thinking I may have found the Tack shop/barn/black smiting area first where all the Iron infested signals were, then stumbled over to the home site. I'm looking forward to going back. The LC is an 1854, it's a date I had not found before. And the flat button had all the classic Indian penny numbers 01-30/31 11/37 it was dark and I was convinced I had found my first field Indian, especially being that the shank was broken, it was nice and flat. All the way home I thought I had an Indian, only to find out it was a button. lol
Thanks for looking, Bill

Congrats on the 2 permissions and your finds. I have to say I prefer finding flat buttons to Indians, but a LC is welcome anytime.

You've got all kinds of neat things I think. That LC should clean up really nice. Many details are pretty clear.. can you show the coin pic after the cleaning? WTG! Nice finds.
