Hello all! I made a day trip to my home county yesterday to detect a plantation site from 1836. I didn't find a lot but I did find my first 2 cent piece & its in pretty good shape! (1864). I also found a buffalo nickel & a nice arrowhead. Saturday I picked up the bottle, a coin that I can't make out anything on & a few wheaties. I also included an 1899 Indian head penny (crusty) & a lead filled saddle ornament (I think) from a hunt last weekend. Thanks for looking & HH!

Very nice bud. Those 2 centers seem to be very resilient. I found an 1865 when I first started and it's a beauty. Great arrowhead too. Happy Holiday bud

Nice job on the 2-center Josh. It definitely made out a lot better than the IH. It looks like someone started to hole the 2-center but never made it all the way through. Is that your take on it?

Yeah, sometimes IHs get this really thick dirt crust that's nearly impossible to remove.... It does look like someone started to hole it but stopped for some reason.

That is a nice one - It seems that for 150 year old coins they do come up looking way sharper than say Flying Eagle cents -
I realize the FE's are a different composition - perhaps Indian Head cents after 1864 would be a better comparison .

Any day you get a first isn't all bad, congrats on getting a 2 center.
I managed one a couple years ago, same year, but a lot more worn.
