Got back down to my newly found colonial site and picked up a few more neat items. 1798 - 1802 UNITED STATES 7th regiment infantry button - sure wish I had the whole thing. A very nice silver cuff button. A much better silvered rosette of the same type I found yesterday - not broken - yay!. Some kind of enameled rosette thingy. Is this thing old? Looks it! Maybe means nothing but its red, white and blue with STARS. Today was also buckle piece day. Found a copper but it is toast. Few buttons and odds and ends.

Wow! What a fantastic site! The 7th Reg button is awesome & the enameled button is killer too. I found the same exact item you did & it was IDed as the top of a rein guide, not a rosette. They must have been fairly common. Bill D sent some pics of ones he's found that are exactly the same as well.

Thanks for the ID! Do you have a date range for these? I have found others in the past but this is the nicest. The sandy soil was kind to several of the items here.

The rein guide is really nice, and the 7th reg buttons is a nice find and maybe there's a complete one out there still. The enamelled button is sweet how many stars does it have?

This place is somewhat sandy and I suspect there are scores of great items below the reach of my detectors. I was digging brick and shell frags down deeper than 15" while seeking out some iron objects so the stuff is down there. The good news is the farmer sometimes plants potatoes in here and that means he goes deep when he plows. I'll probably hit it again next week but the stubble is making it a slow process.

Great looking group of finds, that silver button is awesome as is the 7th and enameled button. There has to be some Spanish coins around there somewhere, keep looking.

Good finds again, I love those silver cufflinks, they don't turn up that often here.

That enameled piece is very interesting, especially because it does seem to have some age to it.

Yep, not sure what to make of it. It came out of the older section not far from the rein guide. I searched through google pics last night with various searches and aside from realizing just how beautiful some of those enameled pieces are I couldnt find anything on it really.

I saw the colors as soon as it came up and immediately thought it was modern garbage! Not much different than a Pepsi screw cap. lol

real nice finds. especially the enameled piece. it may have been a super fancy large button; but if I had to bet I would bet maybe some sort of decorative horse leather tack. but that is just a guess. regardless that color will look amazing in a display case. congrats!
