Nice Bottles, but you can keep the snow and ice. It`s HOT down under and we are walking the rivers and creeks at this time of year. I cant imagine digging in ice and snow. Thanks for posting the photos, a good dig and some nice bottles.

Cheers, Woolshed. ( North East Bottle Club, Victoria, Australia. )

You had a good day for bottles, I have to admit, I have a weakness for old glass.

So far I have found and dug 3 trash pits in the past year.

#1 Trash pit:1880's-1890's
#2 Trash pit: Circa 1900
#3 Trash pit: 1930's (fairly new, only dug it for a while, to much development broke most of the bottles.
I have found around 100 bottles between the first two, and only one complete bottle from the last.
I have not found any screw tops and no crown tops in trash pit #1 so I guess that is a good sign, though there were some broken screw tops in the 1930's trash pit

Your trash pit is way better than any of mine though, those blob tops are really a good sign! Your trash pit looks to be circa 1880's.

Looks like the Watervliet dump, very notorious up in these parts.

It's actuallly not the Watervliet dump. Cops have been watching that one like crazy. The watervliet dump is now off limits due to people that live nearby complaining and police constantly watch it......but why would you even say that out in the open on here?

Also...there are so many dumps....how can you say judging by a few pics of bottles and one shot of the ground which could really be anywhere.

I like the green hutch. Looks like the dig was worth it, but those are tough conditions.

Both sides please end the argument... Sorry, but Gleamer1 broke no rules any more than saying it looks like key Biscayne beach on our beach forum.. Throwing insults violates our rules.
