Silver spill saves the day

With about two feet of snow expected in my area in the next 48 hours or so, I decided that I would get out to my favorite woods for one last land hunt before the snow buries everything. Didn't manage much besides a clad dime- and after about 3 hours in sub-freezing temps I decided that I would head back. I was pretty discouraged and was thinking that FINALLY I would write this spot off as officially hunted out. I was nearly to the edge of the woods, still swinging the AT Pro when I got a strong high tone- an 88 bouncing between 8 and 10 inches of depth. Since this would be my last target of the winter, I decided to ignore the voice in my head that was saying "it's probably aluminum junk." I started to dig. I was really happy to see a quarter - but then realized that it was too shiny to be clad- it was a silver! When I got the pinpointer in the hole I realized that there were a few more targets- another quarter, a Merc and a couple of wheats. Easily my best spill ever. The silvers were 1943 and 1945 Washingtons and a 1943 Merc. Thanks for looking and good luck to all.
