I've been enjoying the MD hobby now for about 2 months and the more I get out there, the more comfortable I get with the AT Pro. I'm finally at a point where I can hear a signal and pretty accurately guesstimate what it's going to be when I pop it out of the dirt.

This is how it's been going the past few outings:
  • Hear a signal... bet it's a clad dime... it's a clad dime!
  • Hear a signal... bet it's a pull tab... it's a pull tab!
  • Hear a signal... bet it's a clad penny... it's a clad penny!
  • Hear a signal... bet it's a pull tab... it's a pull tab!
  • Hear a signal... bet it's a pull tab... it's a pull tab!
  • Hear a signal... bet it's a pull tab... it's a pu-- IT'S GOLD!!!!
At least I'm 90% sure it is. It has a 417 mark on the back.

Found that this past weekend along with a cool little metal case thing (anyone know what that is? it says Bella Woods Hollywood or Belly Woods Hollywood on the cover), a pearl earring, a costume earring, a bunch of clad coins, some keys, and a whole lot of trash and weird big chunks of metal.

Take a peek at the above and my finds over the last 3 weeks.

Congrats on your gold pendant & welcome to t-net! :occasion18::wav::occasion18:

With your energy & enthusiasm, you'll dig a lot of quality items! :icon_thumright: My two gold rings each rang up junky because both were mixed in with iron cruddy stuff! Have Fun & keep us posted. Andi

VWW, You have one of the best-for-the-money machines out there. I have one that looks like it has been to battle, and it finds. I run mine "hot" in Pro Zero, full sensitivity, 40 on the iron discrimination, and ground balance. I burn through the batteries quicker but my goodie bag is full after every hunt. And yes, dig the foil and nickle signals for your small gold, clad signals for your small silver. Great finds and happy hunting, Sub 8-)

Congrats on finding gold already. Be careful, it is very addicting. I am more impressed that you can dig all of those targets with no eyes!:tongue3:

Yeah they say you dig 10,000 plumbs to each piece of gold. I wish my ratio was that good. Actually found 6 gold items last year with the pro

WTG! I've had mine a little over a year.. and I'm still learning it's nuances. But for the money the pro is as good as it gets. You have done very well in a couple of months. Nice going. And welcome to Tnet. We look forward to seeing your finds and finding your face.. ;)
