Hello my fellow Tnet-ers,

I haven't posted in a bit, but today I went out to the spot and recovered a few goodies... I'm also posting a few other finds I found the past couple weeks, same place and forgot to post. Last week an El Paso Texas 1949 bicycle badge/tag, a 1944 merc, El Paso and San Diego trolly tokens, WWI USAF sterling Pilot's Propeller Wings.

Also, found a Merc dime punched stamped with a Victorian female face. At first I thought it was aluminum but a closer look revealed it to be a Merc dime. Has anyone seen something like this before? It looks like it was probably made into jewelry.

Yesterday, I was out for about 1hr and got a jumpy signal and uncovered to my surprise a huge ring. Well, I tried cleaning it with electrolysis thinking it was silver but instead it brought out a mix of copper and silver color out of it. I should have know it wasn't silver when I couldn't find a stamp and part of the top fell off and a small decorative eagle from the side also fell off. [emoji20]

And today, I found a couple marbles and military buttons. This place and I know I said it before is getting harder and harder to find anything... Enjoy the pics

Looks like a lot of fun, Tex ;) I am also in El Paso, at least for another 6 weeks. I'm retiring from the Army and will be going on terminal leave in April. I've been here for 2 years now and haven't seen anything like this. I just tried detecting in Orogrande this past weekend with my grandson. Had a lot of fun there, but look forward to Phoenix in May.

Thanks guys, the buckle is plain and the tank button is my first.

This particular area was an old Ft. Bliss dump site used between the early 1900's and mid 50's... A lot of the stuff we find here, from military buttons to foreign coins.

The dump is separated by businesses and empty lots, 5 to 10 acres spots spread out in a half mile. Unfortunately there's been a lot of construction in the are so this place won't last.

I hope everyone enjoy all the pics. I've started the hobby in 2012 and became an instant addict. It's a hell of way to clear ones mind and equally exciting and adrenaline pump, at least to me as hooking a fish.... You Got to Love It! Thanks to my buddy car91rs AKA Chris for introducing me to the hobby and showing me what it's all about....

Hows this for fish?

Hi Texas Yankee. I am a Coast Guardsmen who is very interested in your "Semper Paratus" find. Would you be willing to barter for it?
