A few nights ago my shop cat got out of my work shop. I've been searching the neighborhood and local woods. In the far back of the property I rent I spotted an oval sign on an iron post. It's was frozen into the ground. I got my detecting shovel out of the truck and started chipping away at the frozen ground. It's a railroad whistle / warning sign. I'm going to completely restore it. As of the posting the cat has not been found.

That sign is a beauty...real heavy duty and not like the modern equivalent. Good luck with the restoration and please post pics when complete!

Super railroad sign - Congrats! :icon_flower::blob3::icon_flower: If your cat is un-neutered Tom cat, he got bored in the shed! :laughing7: In our area of coastal CA, raccoons, coyotes & mountain lions eat cats, especially now since the massive drought has limited their natural prey. Andi

coyotes are a big problem here in Massachusetts- Im always worried when my cat goes out at night - but he only stays out briefly now- we don't put him out for the night like years ago - -they are getting to be a problem in the neighborhoods - my sister has some chickens - right next to her house - and they will walk right up the street at night and she's lost a couple - luckily for my cat - they seldom come into my yard - but -I can hear them off across the brook in the back - hope you find your cat (and good find!)
