The silver was found by my 4 yr. old daughter while I was busy digging trash. Found next to path in backyard. merc1.jpg
I'm not sure if my wife, or backyard, like my new hobby but here are the rest of our finds:

Very nice hunt! Involving your children in your hunting makes it all worthwhile.

Good Luck in 2015.

Thank you! It sure does! These finds were over the course of our first two days hunting. She likes finding worms and "monies" but would like to find "gold diamonds!" I'm with her on that!

Good of you to bring the munchkin-princess into the hobby! I'd get an airtite holder for that dime and give it a quick "dip" in some "ez est" cleaner making SURE to give it a good rinse in hot DISTILLED WATER afterwards. She'll be real happy and can take it to "show/tell" in school and be the class darling......

Thanks for heads up. I'm still learning about cleaning and preserving finds!

Only thing better than finding something good is when our children find something good. Great day.

And a whole lot of trash! When I renovated a good percentage of our house, the debris was brought out back. The old lath nails register almost the same as dimes on my machine. :censored: As they say, hindsight.... Also, sometime in the 70's, someone took a bag of pennies and threw them everywhere. Most likely hoping that someday an inexperienced detectorist would be going mad digging them up.
