Checked out a new a spot today. Did a couple miles worth of hiking on some steep wooded terrain, but ended up find the cool stuff 20 feet from my car.

I agree. I didn't find the spot till the last 20 min of the hunt. Hoping next trip will turn some some coin up.

Your bullet casing looks to me like a Henry casing. Clean it up it may have an "H" stamped on it. They were generally used from the 1860's to later 1800's. Here's a live one I found.
