Due to weather, work and wife it's been a while since I've been able to get out so I slipped out the door yesterday for a full day of detecting. I met up with Evan, who's in town from Oregon, and Bill D. We had hopes to get on to a promising spot but unfortunately we weren't able to get in touch with the owner to get permission. With options limited, Bill did end up securing us permission for a site Bill and I have been talking about hunting for two years. The three of us didn't do too bad there in the button department but coins eluded us except for Evan who scored one but I'll let him tell you about that.
We left there and ventured to a neighboring county to see what else we could get into based on some previous research. The first site had 14 no trespassing signs so we scratched that off the list. The next site, though it looked promising, was a bust. We then decided to hit an old stand-by site where I've pulled some Spanish silver from in the past. Though no Spanish surfaced, Evan was able to score another great coin and I was able to pull a few more buttons and a large cent.
Evan was the clear cut winner for the day and I'm glad I was able to hunt with him and Bill while Evan was in town. Thanks for the bottle Evan!

Yes glad you got out, soon the rest of us can join in the fun.
The button looks to have some strange things sticking out of it ?

Sent from my tin can with a very long string.

It was fun hooking up with you Joey after a long hiatus. Although we didn't make any killer finds, we had a great time in spite of freezing our arses off. Thanks for inviting me and Evan to your site, and hope we can do it again soon.
