Weekend Hunts

Saturday:
Todd Lipe took me hunting on Saturday. He is an awesome guy!
We hit a couple of different places. I got a Merc and war nickel in the same hole, first time I have ever gotten two silvers out of one hole. I also got the thimble from the Monopoly game, clock gear, .22 pistol cylinder, wheatie, lighter, old broken ring and (drum roll please) 1940 German 10 Pfennig coin... featuring eagle and swastika! This site has yielded other WWII stuff, I assume that a soldier brought this souvenir home from the war.

Sunday:
I met Smittyman on Sunday mid morning for a little hunting. I found the usual nonsense... keys, dog tags, hunk of metal that says "LEE" on it and some clad. Then the magic happened and a shiny coin appeared! It is amazing how much better the day seems, after you find a silver coin.

Sweet couple hunts!!

Congrats on the coin spill!! Always Great finding silver, finding silver coin spills, Sweet!!
Only found a couple silver spills myself. My first ever silver dime was a two merc spill. And my first silver quarter was a two quarter silver spill.
I'd say you had a Great weekend swinging...

You will love this... I had another silver... '52 Rosie. We were hunting this school with underground power lines and the EMI was causing the Deus to chatter something fierce. I got a good signal and dug a hole.. nothing in it... moved over 6" and dug again... nothing. Put the plugs back in and walked away. Todd goes over the plugs, gets the signal... removes the plug... and there sits the silver coin. I was VERY disappointed with myself to say the least. However, I guess I was happy for Todd! Dayum!

That's a bummer. It's too bad you didn't have your notes from the boot camp that explained that you can change the frequency when you're experiencing heavy EMI. Chance are you would have found that coin too.

If I were you, I'd still add .5 to my silver total for the year since you did "find" it.
