I started this morning to old cellarhole I found last sunday.I got there set my machine put the coil to ground and headed out behind behind the old cellarhole the machine started acting crazy .It took ten minutes to figure out the area is loaded with hot rocks boulder size and the old cellar foundation was made of hot rocks. Then it started to snow there. I cant get worse but it did before machine went byby.I found a four pound melted hunk silver old lock a beat 1700 coin and axe head and some odds and ends.

Still that's a nice assortment of finds.

Just wondering how did you test the melted chunk to determine that it was silver? 4 lbs is a cool $900's worth!

The hunk of melt silver is not lead its not soft its hard as rock. I have dug plenty of huge melted lead before its real hunk melted silver

I'd say you had a good day if you lugged home 4 lbs of silver and other relics!
Congrats!

Pure silver is soft, that's why they add the copper.

Sweet score! That's a big one! Not uncommon at all to find a glob of silver. I've found my share and I've seen many more on this site. The old houses burn down and the old silverware goes up with it. Unrecognizable after the fire it goes unrecovered until one of us comes along 100+ years later.
