Got out for a few hours this evening.Did pretty good considering.I was very pleased to see the eagle cent but man the ground isn't cutting me any slack. As you can see this one is pretty much toast.I think it is a 1858,but I will have to look at it again.Got a 1864 Indian also which is a little better shape,I just wish I could switch the condition with the eagle :).also found a ball button, 1909 wheat, fly button, and a tuning key for some kind of instrument,i don't think it is very old thow?Anyway ,"where is all the cottin pickin silver":laughing7:Happy hunting everyone Gl! 009.JPG 006.JPG 004.JPG 012.JPG 001.JPG

some good finds right there, don't worry about the Flying eagle, its likely only a pesky 1856 lol

nothing wrong with an indian and a FE in a hunt!!

Good hunt DI@. The FEs and CW period IHs are hard to find. WTG, Q.
thanks Q.Actually I think they where dropped by soldiers,at least the FE anyway.I came across one of those small concentrated spots.i am thinking a small, very temporary camp, assuming yankee because of the ball button.Besides those finds,it doesn't seem like they dropped allot.I will have to scratch at it a little more to see.
