I hit my farmfield again today going over the areas I've already swung, still waiting for Richie to finish off ploughing more than half the field.I learned field hunting...dig ALL non ferrous

targets, bad part is there are so many ferrous targets nulling out the good ones. This is the 3rd season this field has been worked in many decades and have found a lot of cool stuff.

Only got 2 decent targets,an old key and some type of Heavy Gold plated thing,I thought
at first it was the bow for glasses, now I'm not so sure.

GOD Bless

Chris

That is a nice old key. One of my first good finds was a small little key found pretty deep at an 1820's farm house.

ARRC nailed it I was going to say it looked like half of one, with the hinge part and tongue part of the clasp.
Congrats! That is a awesome little key too!

I am about to adopt the same rules of digging in my trashy park, "dig ALL non ferrous targets". and this place is loaded with iron too.

Worldtalker, Can't tell size from the pic, but your key could be an old railroad key. Looks to be an early one at that as the shaft necks down as it meets the bow. Look carefully at the bow to see if you can make out any initials. Some can be very valuable.....some not. Nice key either way.
