me and my buddy were hunting some woods for relic and we are down near a small pond and i get a hit a huge copper hit i scan about 6 feet of it so we said what the !@@##$$ ..we started digging and digging and it didnt stop its to heavy to lift and we dont know how much longer it is ...the pics show what we dug out so far its about 6 feet long and probaly 3 feet around any input u guys have would be great... 20150427_082618.jpg 20150427_082626.jpg

Looks interesting. Almost like cylinder for a lift. The nuts are modern. Would be fun to dig it out and see whats at the other end.

Those are pipe bungs with plugs in them. Might be a water tank or an accumulator for a well pump.

My advice is to proceed with Caution. Make sure its not full of something. Just saying be careful.
Maybe it was part of a Still? Its being copper and all. Very exciting!

It might be just an inner old hot water tank, that could be a good return on digging it out. The metal could be just copper, cupronickel, and some high end tanks have a Monel content. Dig it up, get a nice payday.
