I'm still stuck working everyday but as always I bring the detector along and only managed a 15 minute stop at the spot I got the dandy button a few days ago. I went a little further in and dug the coin. It's my first of this kind. Can't wait to get more time in because it seems like a great spot. Maybe if I'm lucky there might be some old silver or even gold kicking around somewhere. The pictures are crap but at least you can see the detail in them. Thanks for looking! [emoji2]

It has decent detail in person but I was having trouble getting it right for the pictures so I had to put a little water on it to help with the pictures.

It's crazy how people can stop for a fifteen minutes of swinging and catch a couple of nice old finds!
I'd keep that spot on the radar and hit it again when you got some time to give it a good going over, better finds are coming your way!

It is strange how that happens. I finally had last Sunday off and hiked a half hour back a trail and hunted what I thought would be three great spots and it was nothing but trash for three hours and I gave up. Then stop for 15 minutes today to that spot just off the main road and pull out the coin. I guess that's what's great about detecting. You just never know when or what's going to pop out of the ground! [emoji2]

Very nice bud. My favorite copper is a 1760 Hibernia and it's got incredible detail. Being Irish it's a bit more special

Thanks. I don't know much about them except the 1769 had two varieties. Not sure what one I have. Also wasn't there a lot of counterfeits? Im not sure how to tell them apart either. Got to do research I guess unless someone on here knows. I can do more photos later if necessary also.

I wish I could spend 15 minutes that well! Incredible find. That one coin would be enough reason to go back multiple times.

You have the one that was also used on the 1766, not the one which was only 1769. Generally counterfeits are based on the type you have.
