The boy and I hit our ole Colonial property for a little bit this evening and found some good ones.
Things were slow with out too many hits, mainly iron. We were digging the iffy hits hoping there was another hot spot on this property.
I was the first to find digging a solid 80 on the AT Pro at 6". I flipped the plug and saw a greenish coin laying in the hole. At first I thought I had another KG from the thickness of the coin. Picked it out and couldn't believe the detail on this coin, 1788 Connecticut Copper. My best big copper and my second oldest coin, Wow!!

It didn't take the boy long, probably 5 mins. later and 20yds. away. I see him flip a plug and his cigarette drops from his mouth. He looks up at me hardly able to speak and says "Spanish Silver". I walk over to him and he says, anywhere but here and I wouldn't have dug this hit. He got a 76 on the AT Pro and not deep. When he flipped the plug the Reale went flying. Lol
His first Reale and our second from this property, not a bad hunt...

Great going on both coins. As previously mentioned, the CT is without a doubt a M.2-D. It's one of the most common of the CT's and easily the most common 1788, but it's a really nice one. You don't find coppers often that look so good coming out of the ground.

But that seems to almost always be the way.... the one time you get condition you don't have the rarity.

Wowsers! I do not know which one I like better but they're both amazing finds. The Connecticut copper condition is phenomenal.

Outstanding!

Thanks guys!!

Should I try and clean this up any or leave it as is? All I've done so far is to wipe it off with a clean rag.
