Had a few hours to do some detecting so I decided to get over to my favorite field. Since I've pounded this site hard since last summer I thought I'd go in with no discrimination, max sensitivity, and listen for the iffy signals. Not much for the first hour+... But as I passed a nice shade tree, there was a high tone- an inconsistent VDI, but a consistent tone. At about 7 inches of depth this would be at the depth that I've found some 1880's era IHC's, so it was an exciting dig. It turned out to be silver- in fact it is a sterling Cufflink with Masonic symbols (and a small garnet in the star). No real idea how old- hallmark is B&F - closest I could find is a silversmith in England from the mid- to late 1800's. Any ideas? Other finds were a two-piece bangle bracelet that had some gold plate still on it (had that split second rush and then let down) and a really deep (8-9 inches) 1861 IHC fatty. It's a little pitted but I'll take it! Hope everybody's having a good Spring. HH! I myself am a free mason. The cuff link is actually displaying the Shriners symbol. Which to be a Shriner you must be a mason so you are correct. Awesome finds
