Found this in my 1600's spot where I just pulled a colonial spanish real and an LC. I don't know much about them, but is this a kettle point? The hole was done with a square nail for sure. It is triangular but difficult to tell with it all bent up. It is copper and about 1-3/8" wide ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431996382.985373.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1431996411.072850.jpg

I know it's old since it was deeeeep! Probably about 14" down in a very old section of the site.

Let me know what you think and any info if you can.

Thanks Steve

Seems fairly dirty still, possible any lettering under the dirt?

I am no expert and was orginally thought no at first, but the more I look at it and look at similar points...there would be a strong possibility...maybe closer to a harpoon point or arrown head with top point missing...but again no expert and just a guess.. can you measure it for size...?

I hope it turns out to be something, but I probably would have tossed it in with my junk. I'm sure it's old though, just not sure what it was if anything or just a piece of copper scrap with a hole in it.
