Finds from The Cemetery Overflow Parking Lot

First off, let me clarify by saying… I don’t think this actually was an ‘overflow’ parking lot, but this field is located across the road from a c1832 cemetery.
I thought, “well if there were too many mourners in cars or buggies, then this is where they might have parked. :icon_scratch:

I spent 1.5hrs here on Monday morning and after only finding a cool looking ‘Oldsmobile’ Radiator Cap, a toasty half penny and a porcelain Alligator (stamped ‘Wade’ England), I realized I must be wrong. :laughing7:

The little gator came from Red Rose tea box they have collections of 12 things and you have 1 of the 12 in the collection.My wife collects them LOL.

That was a very good educated guess about the parking anyway Dave. I had forgotten all about those Red Rose figurines. My gf used to collect those too. Nice finds.

It is good just to try places at times , you can research away , but it seldom does any good out here , scouting is where it is at and it can be a long hard journey but with perseverance, finds will occur !

Cemeteries are sacred ground as far as I'm concerned... but a parking field, now that's another story! :laughing7:

I thought it might be a novelty of some kind, the sort of thing you might find in a fish tank or an aquarium. :icon_scratch:

I'll definitely have to investigate these rural area parking areas further, whenever the opportunity presents itself! :thumbsup:

This is so true CRM, sometimes it's just a gut feeling we get about a site we see while driving by.
But you never know what might be there unless you stop and turn on the detector! :thumbsup:

I had to be careful that I didn't step on him, thankfully I'm always looking at the ground when I'm swinging along! :laughing7:

I think his wings were wet and he was drying them in the sunshine.

The condition isn't too bad and it still had the metal clip on it to lock it to the top of the rad when I found it.

Yeah, the Half is pretty toasted... but it sure beats digging tin cans eh.

This was just a 1/2acre field that I hoped might hold a lot of coins lost by folks jumping out of cars or buggies. :tongue3:

Your results was a lot better than what I got from the 1803 church over from the station field, then again almost anything beats a piece of lead that had no friends.
