Hi, I was digging out some grass (getting ready to pour mulch around some new raised beds I built) when I found some unusual smooth stone. I dug around it a little bit but I am perplexed as to what it may be. It appears to be some solid stone box with stone lids. I haven't dug much yet and I'm net yet certain how deep it is. Or how long for that matter. Maybe someone out there has encountered this before and has some idea what type of structure this is?

Thanks in advance! :)

It is part of an old septic sewer system. The box part is a distribution box . It should have 3 holes in it's sides. 1 in , 2 out .

That was my thought as well. It makes sense, as it's shallow, cement and has a lid. I'm going with old septic tank that has been filled in.

If it's cement and shallow depending on the age of the house, it could be a capstone to an outhouse....

4 more days, do think I have outhouses on the brain...lol
