I was lucky enough to find the silver dime trifecta over the weekend, it took two days, but I'm kinda slow. I also entered the 1800s silver club. It was a good weekend for me!

Saturday:
Todd Lipe invited me to come up and hunt with him on one of his "guaranteed to find silver coins hunts". How could I resist an invite like that? I was able to find a pocketknife, front end off of a big Tootsie, Merc and barber dimes, two wheats and a Canadian cent and a marble. The marble is the raw material from which fiberglass is made. Tylerbdad ID'd it for me. He said that as a boy he got them from a guy at the local mill, and used them as "shooters". You never know what will turn up.

Sunday:
Todd Lipe, Kurt Stuben and I met up at 8:00AM on Sunday, and we headed to one of my super secret silver honey holes. Todd wasn't out of the car for 10 minutes, and I hear the shrill squeal of "... silvah... silvah..." He had found his first silver coin with his Deus! I got a Rosie, seven wheat cents and an Arby's token. It was getting hot, so we headed home a little after 1:00.

YTD silver count: 24

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts.

Nice job CT. Congrats on the Barber! I have yet to find one of those or any 1800's silver yet.

I'm trying to recall it I have ever had a bi-fecta. (Merc and Rosey on same day) :)

GL

Thanks BL2019. The Barber wasn't that hard to find. Here is the method that I used:

1. Todd Lipe points vaguely over the hill, and says that he found Wheaties "...over thata way somewhere..."
2. Aimlessly wander around in the hot sun until you start to profusely sweat and feel like you are going to throw up. You will know when you have completed this stage, because your legs will feel shaky.
3. Sit down in the shade and look for four leaf clovers in the grass... and drink water. (At this point you can also watch the birds fly around, if there is no clover to search)
4. Swear that you are going to sell that stupid "no treasure finding" metal detector.
5. Stumble across 1800s coin.

If you implement this plan correctly, the Barbers should appear. It worked for me!
GL&HH brother!

Dude, this made me laugh. I too have sat on the side of a hill pondering how much I could get for my detector. :laughing7:

Congrats again on the Barber/trifecta. I hope to get down there and hunt with you guys in the near future. Y'all seem to have a good time even when the treasure is hard to find. :)

Pic of the above. Sorry for the bad pic but I have been following CT for weeks trying to find out his secret. Maybe he is resting or pinpointing here.

Thanks for the shout out there Tom. I'm pondering starting a silver coin guided hunt at night and telling ghost stories. Ten bucks a person with a guaranteed silver coin find. I can be reached through Carolina Tom. Thanks
