I hit a local school that has a hidden soccer/playing field surrounded by woods. I scouted it out last week and waited for the weekend to hunt it. Glad I did, as I dredged a 1944 Mercury dime, which is weird as the school is only about 20 years old. Also found an unmarked sterling rose pendant, four kids' rings, including an interlocked and soldered "Buds/butterflies" ring. (Does this count as two rings for my totals?) I think I will return to this field tomorrow to scour for silver...

Also dredged a couple of bling pendants, a clutch pin with a "Hang Ten" design, hallmarked on the back, "Copyright V. Evers, 1979," two Euro coins, (10 and 20 cents,) and two different arcade tokens. I added $5.82 in clad to the charity fund. It was hot, humid, and fun!

I learned that as of this morning, we also have a new grandson, yay! :hello2: Add that to the fact that I have baby back ribs smoking on the smoker for dinner, and it has just turned out to be a great day. Happy Hunting to all! Sub 8-)

Thanks Evolution, That pendant has the metal construction with the Lexan-style of plastic coating it, different!

Congrats, Grandpa! Little baby feet are kinda appropriate.
Thanks RJ2187, I was thinking that too! (please note there is no correlation between baby-back ribs and new grandbaby.)

Thanks POE, It seems that whenever I hunt school yards, there are always "certains," i.e., heart and religious jewelry, tokens, keys, foreign coins, bling, and precious metals! Sub 8-)

Nice, your pulling out the silver right and left! Sure that counts as 2 rings!
Congrats on the new grandson, a future detectorist!

Sounds like you had a really awesome day!

I have noticed quite a few of the schools have several sports fields in the woods but connected by paths. I will be checking those out after I check a couple more tot lots. And school is almost out that will allow more hunting there too.

Ya I found one of those gold colored Euros last week, almost convinced myself I'd found a gold coin! Lol!

Good hunt and more silver for the pile, Sweet!! I'm guessing a few hunts there and you'll really start pulling in the goods.

Congrats on the new addition, hope both mom and baby are doing good!!

I tell my 2 month old granddaughter she's gonna be my pin pointer side kick when she gets a little older. Lol

Thanks Everyone for the kind words. Daughter-in-law, son, and grandson are doing very well. Yes, the wee one will be my sidekick soon, as we all know time flies. I may have to put the "Hang Ten" baby feet on a small ball cap for him to wear when we are out digging! Wish me luck, I am returning to this soccer field later today! I needs da silver... Sub 8-)
